Hi kids!

I hope you have had a good break. The school would be having a Thailand Student Exchange Programme cum Home Stay on 4 July (Saturday) - 6 July (Monday- Youth Day Holiday).
Each student would be attached to 2 Thai students and they would be staying at your house on these days so that they can understand the Singapore culture and you can bring them along to your neighbourhood areas or even the sights in Singapore!

Interested? Here are the rough prog details:

4 July - You would be coming to school to get to know your buddy during a games session. By noon, your parents would come over for lunch and then bring the Thai students home. At 5pm, you would come back to school with your Thai buddies to join a campfire session at Sarimbun campsite. At the end of the campfire, you would be bringing your buddies back home from school.

5 July - Your own programme with your buddies

6 July - Bring your buddies back to school at 9am. Farewell session.

Do let your parents know about this if you are interested. Do give me a call at 90083478 if you have any queries. We are having a parents briefing this Saturday.

Q & A

I don't have a bed for the Thai buddies?- It's ok. They do not expect luxurious living conditions. Getting them to sleep on mattresses would suffice too.

Where should we bring them on 5 July?
- It's entirely up to you and your family. Some arrange to bring them out to see the sights of Singapore (eg: beach, merlion, Escape theme park, shopping mall etc.)It need not be expensive. You can also bring them around your neighbourhood areas (playground, market, malls, library or home projects - baking!)

What about H1N1?
The Thailand students and teachers are taking extra precautions should any of them fall sick. They are given a thermometer each to conduct timely checks on their body temperature. Should they fall sick, they would immediately be isolated from the rest.

It is a great opportunity for you to get to know friends of another culture. Do let me know if you are interested.

Miss Dzaariny

Hi kids and parents,

Here are the Science topics to be covered in Term 3 & 4:

Term 3
1) Cycles: Water
2) Energy: Energy & Photosynthesis
3) Systems: Electrical Systems

Term 4
1) Systems: Electrical Systems (continued)
2) Interactions: Forces

I hope this helps for those who want to have a headstart during the June holidays. Enjoy the holidays!! At the same time, spend some time to revisit the topics you have problems in and do some revision on your own. It would really allow you to get back on track by the time school term starts.

Regards,
Mdm Dzaariny
